Camping

Last weekend, we went on our first family camping trip.  Now, before you get all excited, we didn't actually sleep in a tent.  Fortunately, Mr. B's parents have a pop up camper, so we were able to sleep in a very comfy bed for two nights.

We drove to the campsite on Friday night and made it through the gates just before closing.  We greeted the family, which included Mr. B's parents, his aunt and uncle, and his cousin's family.  And everyone's dogs.  There were a LOT of dogs - Harvey, Pepe, Shorty, Angel, and Tank.

Then, we attempted to go to bed.  We decided to let Huck sleep with us.  This did not go well.  After fussing and crying for what seemed like hours, Huck finally fell asleep.  He actually slumped over mid-cry.  I would have laughed, but I was worried it would wake him up. The next night, he slept in his playpen and things went much better!

The next morning, we enjoyed scrambled eggs and real bacon hot from the campfire, then took a walk around the campgrounds.  Huck had lots of fun with the family, but he was disappointed not to have free range to crawl. He did enjoy being pulled in the wagon.

We made a stop in Waco on our way home to see my sister and her new baby as well as my parents who were visiting.  Huck loved getting even more attention, plus the opportunity to stretch his legs.

Harvey, on the other hand, was exhausted from camping.
