We don't have a lot of traditions in our family (yet - I want our kids to remember having lots!), but we do have one - Memorial Day is the Capital of Texas Triathlon!
Hubs has been doing the triathlon for almost six years, while I've done it once. I even signed up for it this year - right after registration opened, when I was almost nine months pregnant. Probably not the best time to sign up. I trained maybe, oh, three times? My first swim didn't end well: I had a car accident on my way back home. Oh, well, there's always next year!
I regretted not training when we got to the expo to pick up our packets, but I had so much fun playing photographer during the race that I quickly got over any regrets. Plus, it looked like hard work!
Hubs, however, trained hard for the race - he trained with admirable dedication. And it showed on race day!
