He's growing well - he weighed 20 lbs (50th percentile) and was 30 inches long (95th percentile). We think he's actually closer to 29 inches because he was a little wiggly when the nurse was measuring him.
The doctor said he's developing right on track:
He is crawling, cruising, and can stand on his own for a second or two.
He can say "dadada", "mamama", and "nanana".
He can also say "bye" and wave.
He can clap, though not intentionally. (For some reason, I really want him to learn to clap.)
He's got the pincer grasp (between thumb and forefinger) down. The doctor was very impressed that he can eat with a fork. All props go to Granny for teaching him this skill (thanks, Granny!).
Has it been 9 months! Amazing how time flies.
ReplyDeleteSamuel has his 2 month check up on Friday. Nine shots? Horrid, I might break down and cry with him if I'm not careful. I read that nursing while they get the shot(s) can help, too. But nine? Dude.
I went back and double checked - it was only 5 shots (one vaccine was oral). The nurse was amazingly fast and not as bad as the next month (the next nurse wasn't as fast), but it was still hard to watch. :(
